The rules that keep it fair

Budget only, never score	You can try more, not win cheaper — the leaderboard stays fair
Pays out on first eligible submission	Farming fake referrals would mean building baseline-beating harnesses — more work than just competing
Verified GitHub identity, no self-referral	Blocks sockpuppets and reciprocal rings
Caps + expiry + clawback	Bounds cost; a referee later voided for cheating reverses the reward
